About Anhui University of Finance and Economics

Anhui University of Finance and Economics (AUFE), founded in 1959，is one of the key universities in Anhui Province. With a total area of 1014050 square meters, AUFE comprises two campuses: Longhu Lake West Campus and Longhu Lake East Campus. AUFE consists of 11 schools, 2 departments, 29 university-affiliated research institutions and 54 undergraduate programs. AUFE has a total faculty of 1428 (990 professional teachers), and boasts 29000 full-time undergraduates and 1800 postgraduates. 

Objectives of the Program:

With the “The Belt and Road” strategy, this International Business  Master program teaches international students the international trade and business theories and stimulates their creativity and imagination in the global business. It helps students better understand Chinese language, culture, arts, and history. Students could speak fluent Chinese mandarin. Taking this program will get students a brilliant future.

Opening Date: September 1, 2017

Teaching Language: Chinese 

Duration: three years 

Enrollment：20-25 students 

Teaching Model: 

First year: to learn Chinese Mandarin 

Second and Third year: to learn International business lessons

Application Requirements：

1. The students must have Bachelor Degree 
2. The student is no more than 32 years old (including 32). 
3. No criminal record. 
4. The student must be healthy. 

(Examination by Anhui Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau is required in one week after arrival at the student's own expense. Those unqualified cannot be accepted and must be back to their own country.)

Tuition:

AUFE exempts the tuition fee during the study in AUFE. 

Accommodation

AUFE exempts the accommodation fee during the study in AUFE. 

Scholarship:

AUFE will grant a scholarship of 20,000 yuan to each student in this program per year at most, in which 16,000 yuan is the basic scholarship that each student will be awarded, and the rest will be granted on the basis of the student’s academic performance.   

Insurance: 

Every student is required to buy insurance by themselves. (800yuan per year)

Studying and Working Abroad: Why You Should Do It

It has been now three years since I have left home, right after high school, to start my experience abroad. I went to two different universities in the UK and Denmark and I am now interning a Chinese company in Beijing for the next three months and I am surely planning to keep going.  Here are the main reasons why you should also go abroad without hesitation.

1- It’s NOT as expansive as you think

Do your research. There are many deals and opportunities out there that will save you a lot of money. To give you few examples from my own experience, I’ve found out searching the internet that the Scottish government was paying for the universities’ tuition fees of every student from the EU which led me to enroll in one of them for free. When I did my exchange year in Copenhagen, I was receiving 300 euros a month from the Erasmus program and had no tuitions fees to pay. Another great example is the Chinese government who offer scholarshipshttps://plus.google.com/116009838788976199635/posts/93s1UeApm7v to foreign students coming to China and cover their tuition fees as well as all other expenses including rent but also pay them extra money each month!

2- It makes your CV looks great 

Nowadays, the job market is so competitive that you have to distinguish yourself from the rest in order to catch the attention of potential employers and experiences abroad are a critical asset for this matter. As a rule of thumb, the younger you leave and the further away you go from home the more valuable you become to them.

3- You will learn English no matter what… 

When going abroad as you meet other foreigners or locals, you will find yourself speaking and hearing English everywhere. You will then be inevitably learning it faster than you ever did at school and you’ll realize how important this language can be.

 4-…and other extremely valuable skills for the future

Going abroad definitely gets you out of your comfort zone as you’ll have to adapt to new cultures, make new friends, and do things by yourself. It might be hard, especially at the beginning but in return you’ll become independent, flexible and a proactive thinker.

To quickly sum it up, these three past years have been the most interesting one of my life where I had learn and had fun the most and that is why I would advise to anyone without exception to go for it 

What to do if interested in studying in china – how to apply to university

There are a wide variety of reasons as to why someone might go to a new country to pursue their education, but when you do get to that point it’s important that you know exactly what the procedure is when applying in that country, especially that of China’s as it’s much different to others in the world.

Getting the right information can often be difficult when applying to university in China, as many people will find that many universities won’t have up to date information regarding their university, courses and procedures, especially that in the section for international students. So it’s a pretty good idea if you can’t speak Chinese to simply go with a good agent that provides study in China services, as they’ll be able to give you information and support on the Chinese education system, university application completion, documentation preparation, scholarship applications also including other services.

It’s probably best to start off by researching about the Chinese education system and find some sort of information regarding degrees that you’re interested in, and potential universities, degrees or areas that you’re interested to study in, it can really help.

You can do this by looking on university websites or company websites that help students study abroad, from here you can get a real feel from the education market in China and also what kind of services that these companies can offer, my advice is to go with one you can trust. Look at their content, look to see whether they’ll actually remember your name when you send them an email for example.

Once you’ve decided which university etc. you should really start to collect whatever educational documents you have in preparation for the application process. The majority of universities in China will charge around 100 to 150 USD for their application process, of which you need to pay whether you do it by yourself or through a company. This is completely un-refundable, so if you don’t get it right then you’re wasting that amount of money, so it’s often more beneficial to go with an experienced company that can significantly increase your chances of being selected.

The next stage after submitting the application is to wait, many of the universities here in China are pretty slow at replying due to the amount of applications that they receive, so again, some good advice is to go with a company that has connections within the universities, you’re more likely to be selected this way.

If you’re accepted, then you’ll likely be through to the next steps which will be to have contact with someone within the university, and from here you’ll be sent the JW202 forms or the equivalent, and you’ll be able to apply for the VISA (but make sure you apply for the right one!), if you’re successful with your VISA, then you can book your flights, and the university will likely send you a welcome back too.

How to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship

1. Search the university and program

You can do this by heading over to the CSC website at  http://www.csc.edu.cn/Laihua/scholarshipdetailen.aspx?cid=97&id=1422 and you can search the university and the program that you’re interested to study.

It’s very simple and easy to do, and you can find a lot of helpful information from their database of 300 universities:

 2. Fill in application online and prepare documents

Application Online:

· CSC has an online application that you can complete

· First, create an account for the website at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn 

· Second, enter the ‘Agency Number’; code given to each university/embassy and can be found    via https://www.facebook.com/groups/CGSchina/ or simply by Googling the University’s agent    number

· It’s often better to leave the ‘optional information’ sections blank and concentrate on the      compulsory part.

· After you’ve completed it, save it in PDF and print a hard copy (make sure that the application       form has a serial number)

Preparation of Documents:

·These include compulsory documents and also optional documents

Compulsory include:

1. Academic Documents (Degree certificates, transcripts) – they should be notarized

2. Foreigner Physical examination form (blank form can be downloaded from http://en/csc.edu.cn/uploads/foreignphy.pdf)

3. Recommendation Letters x 2 (issued by different teachers, previous university’s professors)

4. Research/Study Plan (Research plan/proposal for PHD/MS) or Study Plan for BA/MS)) in less than 800 words.

·Research Plan/Proposal – Research background, future research field, research methodology,

expected results, applications and references.

·Study Plan – Student’s introduction, educational background, motives/aims for further higher

education, and brief future research intentions.

Optional include:

Acceptance Letter/Invitation Letter (IMPORTANT) – Sometimes considered compulsory by some universities. This is where a Chinese teacher accepts you into their research group at the university that you want to study. How to get the acceptance letter:

v Research the relevant professor’s email address, which can be difficult if you don’t speak Chinese, hence why many students go to agents to apply as they’ll already know the right people to contact in the university and they’ll also speak Chinese. You may need to phone the university’s international office which could take a long time and get the contact details for the teacher.

v You then need to find good research papers from the teacher that are relevant to your research field, and contact them stating your research interest, interest in studying at the university, interest in the teacher’s research, the urgency to study under him/her at the university, including the help from CGS.

1. Passport

2. English Proficiency Certificate – IELTS or TOEFL – or English certificate from university

4. Research papers, awards, certificates, work experience etc.

3. Additional University Application Processes

·University Fee – Universities may ask for a processing fee

·University online registration – Registration form on university website

4. Collect all documents and send to authorities

v Apply through your agent, university or embassy, send directly to the university

v Make sure to have your photo on the application form, all of the above documents, and check with the university regarding how many copies they want you to send.

How to find a good agent in China

Speaking from the point of view of an actual student, it’s important to choose the right type of agent that suits you for when you’re applying to come and study in China. Here are a few little tips and piece of advice that I have for you to choose the right agency.

Make sure that they’re trustworthy.

This is probably the most important part of everyone’s decision when choosing an agency or organization to do anything, no matter what you’re looking for. So it’s important that you get the right signals from the start from the company. And there are a few points to doing this

· The company feels like a family member or friend rather than a big corporate organization (so it’s better to choose the smaller companies where they’ll actually have one to one-person support and they’ll actually know who you are!)

· Check out their website and get the feel of it

o If the website shows that they want to help the students as much as possible, this is definitely a good start for you. Have a look at their contact page, they need to have things like emails, phone numbers, and maybe even pictures of the people working in the office.

· Ask any people on their Facebook or social media page about their service

o It can’t hurt from doing a little research into the company, have a look at their social media for people’s comments or send a message to the company and see how they reply back.

· Phone them up and speak to them one to one

o Just give them a call. The good agents are the ones that are happy to answer the phone and speak to you about any kind of questions that you may have

· If you’ve got friends in the country, get them to go to their office!

o This is important as many people worry that agents don’t exist, so if you have friends in the country, ask them to pay the company a visit at their office and speak to some of the employees there.

· Some companies want to only get the money straight away so be careful!

o Good companies will provide some sort of service to students first, i.e. collect some information or provide some recommendations and advice and then let the student know regarding the service fees etc. This is to help the student’s know about the company’s service quality and ability to help the student.

o Choose those companies that have the money back guarantee or offer payment methods such as PayPal as this suggests that it’s a safe option for you to pay.

· Choose an agency that is experienced in other matters not just studying in china

o This means that they’re likely to have good relationships with organizations around the world and can actually meet all of the things that they’re saying to you.

o They’re also experienced in the past of setting up relationships with organizations in clients so know what they’re doing.
